Green cars have often been embraced with a lot of myths that has been misinterpreted by a lot of people. By far, the common myths revolving around them have been those regarding the price tag and its zero maintenance. Let us take a look at some of the other common myths of a green car.
Expensive cars!!! - Green cars are not that expensive as compared to the regular gasoline cars. They are quite economical even with a hybrid combination. In exceptional cases of battery operated cars, they might be a little expensive due to the in-built chargers. The hybrid cars do have all the additional features as that of a regular gasoline car but save on giving a large seating space and is very convenient to drive.
Green cars have zero maintenance!!! - It is not quite true that green cars have zero maintenance. They have to be charged for every 35 miles and the batteries have to be replaced quite often and depend upon the travel. There would be other expenses as the cars runs on electricity and less on fuel. The expense would not be as high as the maintenance for gasoline cars but they are restricted to battery replacements for electric power. Most of these rechargeable batteries are quite expensive and so many people opt for plug in hybrids as they are very economical.
Does not harm the environment!!! - Green cars are branded to be very environment friendly but they do pose a threat even though they consume less fuel. Most of the hybrid cars work on two different modes and the power and fuel needed to run the car can give away fewer emissions. These in the long run do pollute the environment and cannot be avoided. It is therefore recommended to go for compact sized green cars as the damage done would be negligible.
Largely bought by a lot of consumers!!! - Even though, there is a big hype around the green cars, it is still under the cover and not many people are found to buy these green cars. It would take time for people to understand the impact of these green cars on the environment. On the whole, only about 8 percent of the population in US support and use green cars. It is yet to catch up with the rest of the crowd.
Green cars are safe to drive around!!! - Green cars are not completely safe to drive as the hydrogen emitted from the engines can emit sparks to endanger life and the nearby surroundings as well. It is by safe driving that such accidents could be prevented.
All of these above myths have been highly targeted by the crowd. Green cars have definitely set the trend for the car market. It has got immense growth of scope in the automobile industry. These myths can be rectified by making the above said implementations to the green car for a better ride. Green cars would lead soon lead the door for gasoline powered cars in the future!
